We’re heading towards June now and school sports days are just around the corner. Time for the ultra competitive Dad’s and uncles to dust off those running spikes and the Linford Christie one piece running suit!
We just can’t help it can we ? Who can resist that chance to show the world we could have given Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis a good run for their money? But be warned this might not be the best venue for demonstrating your competitive side!
To avoid embarrassment for you, the kids you are there supporting, your other half, the school or all of the above, make sure you don’t;
come very last indeed,
pull a hamstring 10 yards in on that remote field that only an air ambulance can get to,
take a fall that takes out your opponents,
let the occasion get the better of you and cheat to get an advantage without enough discretion! 🙂
At DADS V DADS we try to create opportunities for us blokes to still demonstrate our competitive spirit and have chance to burn off some of that excess adrenaline in the right environment while helping others do the same.
You don’t have to be a Dad to play with us, in fact about 20% of those that play are not Dads. It’s more about what it stands for, good games without aggressive play, without moaning and groaning that encourages players to keep coming back, to be involved in, that way we create a sustainable way for us all to keep a bit fitter, because to be honest life has other more serious priorities !
